Beneficiaries carried out trainings on communication and visibility requirements

Beneficiaries from the Bulgaria-Türkiye, Bulgaria-Serbia and Bulgaria-North Macedonia programme completed specialised online trainings dedicated to communication and visibility measures. The initiative aimed to strengthen their capacity to communicate project implementation effectively and in line with EU requirements. It provided a comprehensive overview of regulatory framework, the rules for application of different visual elements, the architecture of communication activities and practical examples.

The Environmental Procedures for the Strumyani – Berovo (Klepalo) Border Crossing Point Have Been Successfully Completed

The environmental procedures for the construction of the Strumyani – Berovo (Klepalo) Border Crossing Point on the territory of Bulgaria have been successfully completed. The Supreme Expert Environmental Council under the Ministry of Environment and Water adopted a decision approving the implementation of the investment proposal for the construction of the border crossing and its related access infrastructure.

The future of INTERREG programs was discussed in Blagoevgrad and Kyustendil

Regional consultations were held in Blagoevgrad and Kyustendil, dedicated to the preparation of the new European Territorial Cooperation programs for the period 2028–2034. The meetings were attended by representatives of municipal and state administrations, non-governmental organizations, businesses and educational institutions, who discussed the opportunities and priorities for the future development of cross-border cooperation. 

Presentation of the EIA report on the strategic project "Establishing of a New Border Cross Check Point (BCCP) Strumyani - Berovo (Klepalo)" at public discussions

Public consultations on the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report for the strategic project "Establishing of a New Border Cross Check Point (BCCP) Strumyani - Berovo (Klepalo)" were held in the villages of Strumyani and Tsaparevo.

The investment proposal includes the construction of the Border Cross Check Point  “Strumyani – Berovo”, together with the necessary access infrastructure, including Road III-1008 “Strumyani – BCCP Klepalo”.

Monitoring Committee Approves SME Call Results under Interreg VI-A IPA Bulgaria – North Macedonia Programme

On 10 February 2026, the Monitoring Committee of the Interreg VI-A IPA Bulgaria – North Macedonia Programme held its official meeting, during which the results of the Call for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises were reviewed and formally approved. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works of the Republic of Bulgaria, Yura Yordanova-Vitanova, and co-chaired by Stefan Vangelski from the Ministry of Local Self-Government of the Republic of North Macedonia.
