Interreg Cooperation Day 2025: Hidden Messages, Quiz, and Birthday Cake in Kyustendil

On 19 September 2025, Kyustendil came alive with joy, energy, and inspiration as we celebrated Interreg Cooperation Day.

Young people from Kyustendil and Kriva Palanka reminded us that cooperation has no borders – it means building trust, creating friendships, and sharing a common vision for the future.

As part of the celebration, participants enjoyed an exciting game searching for hidden messages across the city of Kyustendil, as well as a quiz testing their knowledge of Interreg and the European Union. Their enthusiasm brought the event to life and highlighted the importance of cross-border collaboration.

The day was made even more special as we celebrated 35 years of Interreg – 35 years of connecting people, regions, and communities across Europe. Of course, no birthday celebration is complete without cake, and everyone joined in to mark this milestone together.

The event was organized jointly by the two Programmes – Interreg VI-A IPA Bulgaria–North Macedonia and Interreg VI-A IPA Bulgaria–Serbia – within the framework of the international theater festival "Acting Europe – Theater without Borders", demonstrating the strength and value of cross-border partnership.
