REGIONAL CONSULTATIONS ON INTERREG PROGRAMMES FOR THE PERIOD 2028–2034 HAVE BEGUN

The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works has launched a series of meetings with stakeholders regarding the preparation of the new European Territorial Cooperation programmes for the period 2028–2034. The aim is to enable local communities – public administrations, cultural institutions, non-governmental organisations and business representatives – to become acquainted with the initial drafts of the programme documents and priorities for the upcoming period, and to actively contribute with proposals that may be taken into account in the programming process.

✅ Bulgaria is expected to continue its participation in a total of 12 Interreg programmes – as Managing Authority of the programmes with North Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey; as National Authority of the programmes with Romania and Greece; and as National Contact Point for the programmes “Black Sea Basin”, “Danube Region”, “Euro-MED”, “Interreg Europe”, “URBACT”, “ESPON” and “INTERACT”.

The focus of the meetings in Blagoevgrad will be on the future European territorial cooperation programmes under Interreg covering the region – the Interreg IPA Bulgaria–North Macedonia Programme, the Interreg Greece–Bulgaria Programme, as well as the transnational programmes in which Bulgaria participates with its entire territory. - REGISTRATION

In Kyustendil, the consultations will focus primarily on the future development of the Interreg VI-A IPA Bulgaria–North Macedonia Programme and the Interreg IPA Bulgaria–Serbia Programme, with an emphasis on the needs and potential for cooperation in the south-western border region. - REGISTRATION
